Get fired up for the Portland Winter Light Festival! Join us at our office February 6^th from 5:30-7:30pm to kick off the first night of the Winter Light Festival, which turns the city into a glowing canvas; connecting neighborhoods, supporting local artists, and giving our community something joyful to look forward to.

February 6^th is the first day of the festival and there will be a FIRE SHOW in Pioneer Square to kick off the fun! Our office will be open for you to warm up, nibble on small bites, and quench your thirst while you peruse the installations scattered throughout downtown.

Each year the Portland Winter Light Festival transforms the City of Roses into a city of lights. Designed to bring light to the wintry darkness, this free festival is a favorite tradition that returns every winter season with imaginative works combining light and technology to create interactive experiences.

This is a remake of the remarkable trip we had planned for fall of 2025, but which was maybe a bit too hard to chew.  There were lots of people who wanted to go but felt the intensity of the trip was maybe too much.  We totally get it.

So, in response and with some feedback from you, we have worked with the provider to develop an alternative trekking adventure that is much easier and open to all levels of physical fitness and for that matter, desire.

We will begin with a helicopter tour of Mt Everest just like the previous itinerary.  But instead of doing a big loop of long trekking days, we will stay at the amazing Hotel Manaslu in Kathmandu as home base and do day hikes out and around the Himalayan Mountains. This way you will always have the option of taking a day off or adjusting the schedule as it fits your personal needs and abilities.

This amazing 195-mile continuous bike trail takes us from the Southern Alps to the Ocean through some of New Zealand’s most remarkable landscapes.  It is a fully supported ride on mainly smooth and predominantly undulating trails; e-bikes are available.

We are preparing this trip, but most likely it will be a 7-day ride, and all arrangements will be made for us.  All we need to do is show up and ride, taking in some of the most amazing scenery in the world.
